This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My classroom is one that isn't seen in every school. I teach 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students in an Academic Autism Classroom in a Title I school. My students have been working hard to learn and challenge themselves to grow in their work, both academically and socially. My class is smaller in number but we are always doing something to get better. They need more help to get to the final outcome but they are capable. I am striving to get them what they need to get them interested in learning. Getting items to help make the room more friendly will be amazing. They all can learn, its finding out how they learn!
My Project
Using headphones daily means that they often wear out. My students use the computer multiple times a day for computer based learning and for many assignments throughout the day. Students listen to books as they are read to and having new headphones will allow students to not be distracted by others listening to theirs. Many of my autistic students prefer having over the ear headphones because they are more comfortable and having them in different colors will help us keep up with who is using them. I have 4 desktops that are in need of a new mouse. These mice are slightly smaller and will help the students scroll through assignments easier.
Comfort and ease are important for students as they are learning things that will help them be stronger individuals.
