My students need headphones and an easily organized storage area for them. Headphones can get tangled easily. Hopefully this will prevent that, as well as have student iPads readily available!
I work in a Title I school, so most of my children come from poor and troubled backgrounds. My school is great about getting us what we need, but there are limits to what they can actually do for us. My students are wonderful and love to learn. They are eager to use any new materials I can bring into the classroom to make their learning easier and more effective. As a new teacher, I myself am very eager and ready to try new and inventive things with my class. I am a big believer that what I can do in my students’ lives now can make a significant impact on who they are in the future. My students don’t get much at home, so I want to give them everything and more in class.
My Project
My students use iPads as well as computers daily and in different parts of their days. My kinders need good quality, durable headphones for these activities. Students get supplemental as well as enriching content through different computer and iPad programs. Without these two forms of electronics, the centers in my classroom would not be near as effective or efficient. However, almost all of my headphones no longer work and my school does not have the funds to get more quality headphones that can withstand a kindergartener's handling. Without quality headphones, my students cannot get quality education from these additional electronic programs. Along with the headphones, I have asked for a headphone/iPad storage center. My students are in charge of retrieving their own center materials each day and it would be nice if everything could be easily organized for them so that everything can be taken care of properly. By having the extra storage center, I hope my materials will last longer and be better cared for.
