This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are from a small, rural county of around 7,000. Our community is so small that everyone knows everyone. The community is mostly very poor and lacks resources that many people in other areas take for granted. Because of this, we look to grants and other people outside of our school and community to help compensate for that lack of resources.

Our kids deserve a chance at having high-quality, engaging learning experiences and I am willing to do whatever it takes to give them those experiences in my classroom.

We hope that you see the value in investing in our classroom, our students, and our community.

My Project

We were recently donated 12 Chromebooks to use in our gifted classroom but do not have sturdy headphones so that my students can use the computers with sound. Several of the apps and programs I intend to use have sound effects and require headphones. I am asking for middle of the line quality headphones so that I can get several years worth of use out of the headphones at a reasonable cost.

My students would greatly benefit from the use of these headphones each and everyday in our classroom.

They not only would benefit in my regular classroom hours but online gifted eligibility testing also requires headphones.
