This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are located in an urban area of New Jersey, which has been described by the media as "the poorest city in the U.S." and "the most dangerous city in America." A full ninety-six percent of our students are classified as "economically disadvantaged"; sixteen percent have special needs.

I am a self-contained, special education teacher.

This year I am teaching a wonderful group of fifth through seventh grade students.

These headphones are a much needed item in our classroom, as presently the students need to share the sets that we have in our room. This becomes a problem, as students need quiet while doing any computer based work.

Individual headphones will allow my class to concentrate on the material presented and not have to wait for a headset. My students so deserve to have these items, as they will definitely improve their skills in both math and reading. My students will be able to focus on their work and not be distracted by other noises that are present in the classroom!!!
