I have a classroom full of inquisitive learners, each with their own learning style. I teach second grade at a Title I school, with 88% of our students that receive free or reduced price breakfast and lunch. My classroom is very diverse. We currently have four different languages used by our students in our classroom alone. There are 17 different languages used by our students throughout our school - many of which didn't speak English when beginning the school year.
Technology has become a helpful tool when reaching all of my students learning styles.
Each student uses a one-to-one device (Chromebooks) to help further their content knowledge in a given subject. This allows ALL students to get the chance to learn at their own pace, style, and many different ways.
My Project
I am looking to get 32 pairs of headphones for my classroom. Our students get to work on One-to-One devices (Chromebooks) throughout the school year. We uses these devices on a daily basis. From whole class, to partner work, to independent activities, these headphones will come in handy.
My students will uses these during our book club centers to listen to stories that we are leaning about for the week.
Students will use these headphones when using websites that help them learn their letter sounds, reading fluency, and working on math problems. These will help when taking their monthly assessments, which are taken on-line.
Lastly, with these headphones this will help my students to focus by canceling out other student's Chromebook noise.
