My students need a new EV3 Robotics Set. This coming year Hoboken Charter School is expanding to our third FLL team! We need another kit to make sure we have enough parts for all three teams.
At the Hoboken Charter School, we believe that students thrive in environments where expectations are clear and consistent at all levels, and where students are known — not only by their peers, but by the entire school community. An emphasis on curriculum that places the student at the center of inquiry is the foundation for the school’s four critical learning “cornerstones.” These cornerstones are: rigorous academics, arts literacy, and personal and civic growth.
Through service learning, students bring the community into the classroom and extend the walls of the classroom out into the community.
Service learning offers a way to tie the curriculum to community action. Students at the Hoboken Charter School identify community problems; design, implement, and evaluate action plans; and engage in ongoing personal reflection. Through these experiences, students become active, contributing members of the school community, the city of Hoboken, and beyond. In developing this approach, the Hoboken Charter School has developed relationships with a wide variety of individuals and groups within the Hoboken community.
My Project
Hoboken Charter Robotics needs a new EV3 Mindstorms Robotics kit. This year Hoboken Charter School Robotics is expanding to a third FIRST Lego League team. We've had overwhelming demand to join the program! This expansion requires some more robot parts.
The new robot kit will help middle school age students learn the engineering process as well as develop coding skills.
By running three teams, we will ensure that more HCS students can engage in the hands-on learning of FLL. Students will get to build and program a robot to complete various challenges. They will also complete a research project.
FIRST Lego League is an amazing program. By supporting this request you will directly help more Hoboken Charter School students learn and do robotics!
