Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are from a low-income/high poverty neighborhood. They are faced with numerous challenges both in and out of the classroom with limited access to educational resources. All of my students, based on their parents' socioeconomic status, receive free breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner (if they so choose).
My class consists of diverse learners.
Numerous students in my class are functioning below grade level with four RSP students. I would like to provide my students with more technology that would give them access to more resources, which will provide more opportunities to learn. This will open up the opportunity that are not accessible due to limited budget we have to work with. I'd like to assist my students by closing the achieving gap.
My Project
This amazing story book, "Wonder," will teach and inspire my students many important life lessons.
This heartfelt book, "Wonder," will teach my students the importance of life lessons such as friendship, empathy, bullies, courage and acceptance.
The students will learn characters and to never judge anyone by their appearance. Also, students will learn that in many cases, it's not their circumstances that determine their happiness, but their outlook and attitude in life. The other lesson that I would like my students to take from reading this book is to be brave, stand up for themselves and not give in to bullying because it's never okay.
