Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach in an inner-city public school which houses a program for Autistic Impaired Learners. We have a diverse population of students with various autism spectrum disorders.
My classroom consists of eighteen children, two of whom are on the autism spectrum.
All my students are the kindest and hardworking students you will ever meet. They are genuinely thoughtful and selfless. Watching how all students accept one another for their unique and beautiful differences is truly amazing. I am the luckiest teacher on the planet!
My Project
It is so important to stress to children how important happiness is. In the book, "Have you filled your bucket today?", children are reminded that we all need to learn how to be truly happy everyday, and we can do it by filling buckets. It's all in the bucket, that invisible bucket that follows you everywhere, teaching young readers valuable lessons about giving, sharing, and caring. This book helps guide to daily happiness for kids. We all need reminders of the benefits of positive thinking and positive behavior. It's an important lesson to teach and remind us all, that showing kindness and appreciation of others goes a long way to making this world a happier place for everyone, including ourselves. A classic tale, beautifully told and beautifully shared. The children will receive the books in their pails or buckets. We will use the school supplies to write and post our happy thoughts.
