Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach kindergarten to some of the hardest working five and six year olds around! They love to learn and get their hands dirty. My students live in an extremely low-income area which often limits their exposure to life experiences. Because of this, I try to bring as many real-life discoveries into our classroom that I can. My students take on every challenge head-on and would love to have a science-based classroom!
My students work really hard to achieve our classroom goals, I want to make sure they have everything they need to be successful.
That includes having the support and resources they need to help them build their love for education!
My Project
Almost daily kids come to school out of uniform, or with inappropriate clothes for tbe weather. Our supply list requests that families bring a spare change of clothes for each child. Many families forget, or can't send a spare pair. Some kids use their spare clothes right away, and never bring back another set.
I would like to have an extra set of clothes for my students so that we do not have them miss out on learning time due to accidents.
This donation would give my entire team and I, an extra change of clothes for several students. Thank you for considering our project!
