My students need a laptop computer and printer ink so that they can edit and print their digital photographs.
That's a great photo! Well, I think it could be based on the 2" image I can see on my camera. This is the frustration my students are currently facing. This year we have a brand new digital photography course, but no computers for students to download and edit their photos on.
My middle school students are anxious to explore the wonderful world of digital photography.
We have been able to borrow and order some cameras for students to use, but we only have my one teacher's computer for 22 students to use to download and edit their photos. My students LOVED getting to go to the library to edit their photos last week, and deserve to have access to a class computer more than once a month. Photography is something that allows my students to be expressive and successful in ways they may not be able to be in other classes. It is my goal to make sure my students have everything they need to do just that.
I am requesting a classroom use laptop and printer ink that will allow my students to take their images off the tiny camera screens, and share their art with the world. My students have already come up with some awesome images given our short time and limited resources. There is so much that can be done after the shutter closes. Having another computer that they can access in class will allow my students to explore a number of photo editing and manipulating options that will allow them to make artistic choices beyond composing a successful photo. Having extra ink cartridges will allow my students to participate in a variety of art shows where their work can be recognized and awarded.
Digital photography is a class that allows students to express themselves and explore new ways of creating art, while connecting with the technology that moves their daily life.
Having this technology will help my students explore the multitude of options available in the world of digital photography, as well as give them a chance to be recognized for their success by participating in contest and art shows.
