Special learners need special ways to learn. I am a special education teacher teaching a mix of 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students with a variety of learning and developmental disabilities.

Teaching different grade levels is very challenging, especially when students have very different learning styles and needs. They need to be kept engaged and interested at all times and work at a pace tailored to their ability.

The Leap Frog Literacy Center offers a multi-sensory approach to helping students learn to read by using sight, sound and touch to guide them through literacy activities and provide opportunity for skills practice. It keeps their interest through colorful, interactive stories, opportunities to practice letters and sounds on the LeapDesk workstation as well as on the LeapMat learning surface. This program also allows me to track their progress and create activities and lessons tailored to meet their individual needs.

Your help will enable a very needy group of children to learn and have fun while feeling successful at every step of the way. You will make it possible for my students to develop a love for reading and skills that will last them a lifetime.
