My students need access to books! I have hundreds of books, but no shelves to organize them on. Giving my English Language Learners access to quality children's literature is crucial to their success. Five Snap Together Metal Bookcases make this happen.
The students in our classroom engage in new learning opportunities with enthusiasm and gusto. Opportunities that allow them to see the world beyond the city are few and far between.
More than 80% of our student population has difficulty securing basic living needs including food and housing.
For many students, school is the highlight of their day, knowing that is where breakfast and lunch are provided. The majority are English Language Learners, whose parents are first generation immigrants.
Our classroom is an exciting learning environment where we come together from diverse backgrounds to collaborate with each other as we engage in hands-on active inquiry and digital learning experiences.
Our classroom has become an integral part of their success in helping them feel secure, included and encouraged. The sense of community that we have built allows each child the opportunity to explore their beliefs and ideas in a safe environment.

My Project
My students need access to books! I have hundreds of books, but no shelves to organize them on. Giving my English Language Learners access to quality childrens literature is crucial for their success. Five Snap Together Metal Bookcases make this happen. Quality children's literature is essential for building comprehension and vocabulary. I already have an extensive collection of children's resources, but am lacking the proper place to store them so that children can access them quickly.
By selecting reading-level appropriate books, children will expose themselves to folktales, non-fiction, legends, plays, historical fiction and other genres to build their fluency in literacy.
Stronger readers will benefit by exposure to more challenging and varied titles. Access to literature is fundamental in developing active, strong thinkers who learn about the world around them.
