In my classroom, I have 19 kindergarteners! This year's group has taken off with their reading! There are 10 girls and 9 boys. Our class is very active this year as 5 and 6 year olds naturally are. Our classroom goal this year has been to work on building community and giving students more choice. One way that I would like to give more students choice is through differentiated seating and having students be able to pick where they sit that best suits their needs as a learner.
Students all learn in different ways and having students choose a seat or a spot in the room, will allow them to have ownership of their learning.
Through this project, I hope that students will learn how to put themselves in groups and find ways that they learn best. Another goal is to have students own how they learn and be able to make choices that best suit their needs.
My students have been working hard this year on building community within our classroom. Our goal is to have more choice in our day to day classroom activities. Having these different seating options will allow us to have ownership of our learning and our needs.
This project will help us to see we all have different learning styles and needs and we are all different.
With this project, students will have many different options to choose from to use our flexible seating choices. Again our goal is to allow students to have more choices to get their wiggles out and to have ownership of the ways that they learn best.
