My Students

I teach in a city school district with students of diverse backgrounds; however, most of our students have limited and/or difficult life experiences and need a comfortable and safe space to learn.

My goal is for my special needs students to love coming to school and want to learn on a daily basis.

To reach this goal, I need up-to-date materials and technology to help make learning interesting and fun.

My students are so unique and special and each one has the potential to succeed in life. I want to help give them as many opportunities as I can while I am their teacher.

My Project

Many of my students have difficulty sitting still and staying in a hard chair for lengthy periods. I think it is important to give some seating options so that they can do their best work without feeling uncomfortable.

Using inflatable ball chairs and floor seats will give my students a choice when it comes to their learning.

Flexible seating also helps make the classroom inviting so that my students will be motivated to attend school every day. Floor seats are great for use in the reading center and for independent work time, while ball chairs will allow students to move a bit while listening.
