My students need more seating options for their reading intervention time. The students are able to choose books on their level and build their reading stamina. The students are needing to have more comfortable seating options.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
KGE school consists of grades 3-5. KGE is filled with students who are eager to learn and explore new things. As a reading interventionist, I work in small groups with the students on a daily basis. Many of our students come from low to middle class income families which may hinder their opportunities outside of school. Our students love to have many resources at their fingertips to learn in all the ways they can. I look forward to helping our students grow.
My Project
My classroom is lacking flexible seating options for the students during their reading intervention time. I brought a Bungee chair from my home and all of the children have all fallen in love with it! It is the highlight of their time with me. I wanted to be able to have two of these chairs for the students to utilize and to save on any disagreements over whose turn it is. Our classroom would also would thrive from Bean Bag chairs. I am hopeful that you will be able to help our classroom and provide some new seating for the students.
