My students are a diverse group of creative minds who love to succeed. Many come from low income homes and are faced with challenges both at home and in school. These children come to school ready to learn with an awesome attitude. I am lucky to spend my day with each and every one of them.
These kiddos are smart, hard working and love to learn.
They blossom through positive attention and praise. I strive to make learning fun and exciting for them. I work to create an individualized learning path for my students so they will show growth and success in school.
My students are not the only learners in my classroom. These kids teach me so much each and everyday, and make everyday new and exciting.
My Project
I believe students learn best in a comfortable work environment. When students are restricted to a hard metal or plastic chair all day, they become restless. During this discomfort, they tend to be unfocused and easily distracted.
Comfortable learners are better learners.
I believe flexible seating is a key component in a positive learning environment. Many of the students in my classroom currently utilize yoga balls as seat options in the classroom. While using these they are able to sit comfortably and ready to learn.
My goal is to provide all of my students with seating options that will allow them to be focused learners. The stability cushions will be a valuable seating options for those who prefer to sit on the floor, or who would like to use them in their traditional chair, but would like a softer seat. The stools will be a seating option for those students who do not prefer cushioned/soft seats, but would still like to leave their metal desk chair.
