My students come to school every morning ready for a hug! They love being a part of the classroom community and are full of energy. I look forward every morning to greeting each student and starting our day like a big family. We begin with the Pledge of Allegiance and end our day cleaning "house."
My students need to feel safe and comfortable in the classroom.
The majority of my students are from low-income households. They rely on me for more than teaching them academics. I have to provide needs that are not being met at home.
I have switched from teaching PreK for 12 years to 3rd grade last year and now 1st grade this year. I am in need of new seating for the classroom library. I also need engaging activities for this age group to explore.
These students look to me to provide a safe and comfortable place to explore interesting topics.
We are a school serving low-income families. My students do not have access to many of life's meaningful and stimulating experiences.
I like to fill in the gaps these children encounter. I try to provide interesting centers to explore in the classroom.
