Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work at a title 1 campus where 80% of our campus receives free or reduced lunch. Our school services families from different backgrounds, including a neighboring women's shelter. My students love to learn and are eager to come to school every day.
My Project
Young children learn best during play; especially with their peers. They learn to solve conflicts, gain confidence, problem solve, and learn real world experiences through play. My students work hard everyday learning to read, recognize problems and solutions in fiction stories, number sense, etc. By Friday we are tired! Each Friday we have fun as a way to reward our hard work throughout the week. Students will be participating in STEM activities and building towers with the Magnatiles. They will get to use their imagination and pretend to be a store owner with the cash register. They will practice leadership skills with their peers when playing with the cash register. This donation will help us grow our minds and have fun at the same time.
