My Students

The amazing students in my class come from all over the world. It is really the UN of classrooms, with students representing Vietnam, Somalia, Moldova, Jordan, China, Mexico, El Salvador, Russia, and countless more. It is a joy to be in such a diverse, fun classroom! My students are super eager to learn and are so fun to teach. Many of them speak a language other than English at home. The neighborhood is just as diverse and low income as well. It is a wonderful school to work at where students bring their culture to school and the diversity is just a joy to be around!

My Project

The incubator we hope to get will allow students to see better the chicks hatching. The books will help the kids learn about the life cycle of chickens, how they are raised, and more.

There is nothing like watching my students eagerly walk into our classroom and quickly go look to see if the eggs are hatching!

Students will be engaged in reading and writing activities describing the growth and development of the embryo in the egg, as well as learning about the life cycle of a chicken. The books and teacher resources will help guide students to learn about what is happening in the egg and apply that knowledge to other science topics.
