Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach dual language in a low income district that was just hit by Harvey. The school has been closed due to massive damage. We have been displaced to another school while they rebuild our home school, JRES. I am saddened to say that many of my students as well have lost their homes. I would like to provide a wonderful learning and fun filled room for my students to come into. We started school on September 14th and I have nothing. This is where I need help.
My Project
A classroom is not complete until there is a science station. Our young explorers need hands on science manipultives that bring forth a curiousity of our environment. A science station will help our young learners not just academically, but it also helps them understand their place in our community.
I encourage my students to play and explore our environment; life science, earth science, and physical science all of which aid our young learners in becoming a well balanced individual.
Bringing in a class pet with the aquarium with help the students become aware of the needs of others and they will become more responsible and confident with carring out their job in the classroom.
