Our school was flooded by Hurricane Harvey. We received 18-30 inches of water throughout our school, which stood for several days. Many of my teaching materials were lost in the flood. We will not be able to return to our school for quite a while, but we did begin school on another campus beginning September 20th. We are attending school half days and sharing our classroom with other classes. My students deserve to have fun, interactive, and educational lessons to take away from the thoughts of their own destroyed homes away from school. I would like to have these social studies lessons for my students with your help.
My Project
Our school was flooded by Hurricane Harvey, and we have been housed at another district campus. Next month, we will be able to return to our campus in portable buildings. Our cafeteria will be available to use for lunches, programs, assemblies, meetings, and all other events of this nature. Right now, we have no tables for my students to use when we go to lunch, events, meetings, etc.
My students deserve to eat lunch with their peers to enjoy social time and to have a place where they can go for tutoring, meetings, and any other school events.
My students are wonderful kids who have struggled through a hard time at home and at school while going half days at a campus 20 minutes from their usual location.
Lunch and an assembly place is important for social skills, down time, and other school emotional and educational needs.
