Help me give my students the books they have been begging to read.
This project expired on June 18, 2019.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
My students attend school in a very low-income/high poverty area. With a school-wide free and reduced-price lunch rate over 70%, my students face hardships every day.
Many of my students are unable to purchase school supplies at the beginning of the school year.
My students are extremely bright, optimistic, and very caring. These students deserve a fresh and completely prepared start to the upcoming school year. The start of the school year often determines how the rest of the year will go.
Throughout this year my students have been reading the first book of the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. For many students this was the first novel they enjoyed reading. The Harry Potter books are magical (pun intended). I have seen how excited students get when they have the opportunity to read. Last week my classes completed the first book of the series.
My students are now begging to read Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets as our next class novel.
Unfortunately, my classroom funding and the school's library funding for the school year has already been depleted. Please help me give my students the gift of reading. I have never seen them so excited to read and I want to continue kindling the flame of loving to read.
