Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone: An Exploration
Help me give my students get the chance to explore the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Your donation would go towards each student getting their own copy to read.
My students are hard working students from an economically challenged part of Central Oregon. We have a diverse group of learners who enjoy learning about many different things. Our school has taken on a program called Genius Hour. In the past few years, it has morphed and evolved into something new. This year I'll get the chance to teach an enrichment course!
My 6th, 7th and 8th grade classroom is a place of challenge and discovery.
Students spend this year learning the foundation of knowledge and skills they will need as they move forward in advanced studies.
The students are 6th, 7th, and 8th graders in a rural Central Oregon Middle School. They are excited to explore the world of middle school and to learn about the great societies, and to expand their capacity for critical thinking. They take pride in their efforts and are willing to challenge their minds for the sake of learning and making the world a better place.
My Project
I've been given the chance to teach an enrichment course once a week this school year. Some of my favorite books that I read growing up were the Harry Potter series.
With the opportunity I'll guide my students into the wizarding world of Harry Potter and give them the chance to experience to magic that I had when I was their age.
We'll explore the various themes and elements that can be found in the story and learn and discuss how we can apply them to life. Your donation will give each student their own copy to read! Genius hour is such a cool opportunity for our students and I'm excited to share my time with them.
