My Project

This next school year our 7th and 8th grade students will be focusing on reading The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind. This book will be used in an interdisciplinary manner between science, social studies and ELA!

We are focusing not just on literacy goals for our students, but also focusing on using science and engineering to problem solve in order to increase equity, raise vocabulary, increase comprehension, and promote students' ability to reflect and connect!

We will also be introducing our students to the concepts of sustainability and agriculture!

Researchers have found that interdisciplinary instruction boosts students' cognitive abilities to recognize bias, think critically, embrace ambiguity, and acknowledge and appreciate ethical concerns.
