Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom is filled with 24 amazing, strong kindergartners who come from homes that struggle to put dinner on the table.
My students are considered Title One students and many have little or no access to technology at home.
Ninety-nine percent of my school qualifies for free or reduced lunch program, which means the school provides breakfast and lunch. Many of my students live in shelters or come from broken homes. Yet, the love that they hold for learning and education is unfathomable. Their excitement and unfaltering smiles make me want to give them the opportunities they deserve.
My Project
In today's world, technology is an inescapable part of life. I want to ensure that my students will not be left behind. I absolutely love creating new games and projects for my students to enhance their learning. Unfortunately, I do not have a printer to print out any available educational printable items or the activities I create. We have very limited resources in our building and cannot afford a printer and ink. I create activities, anchor charts, games, and centers. All of these things are designed to meet the needs to my students. Some of my students are English Language Learners and colorful visuals hanging in the classroom would aid tremendously in their learning. A printer and ink will help me to continue to provided materials to my students.
My students deserve a great education and there are so many ways to enhance their learning with a printer.
I believe that this project will help my students learn procedures, reading skills, math, and writing skills because they will have anchor charts, activities, and games to better meet their individual needs.
