My students need a monetary reward system to reward their positive choices. I am excited to use the Learning Resources Play Money to create this reward system and teach students the value of coins!
I have a classroom full of sweethearts. Each and every student in my room has an amazing outlook on school, friendship, and life. Some of my students are still learning to read, while others can read on a 3rd grade level!
We are learning to accept each other's differences and put our best effort into each part of each day.
We are also learning all about life skills like empathy, integrity, self-control, embracing diversity, and showing grit. Each of these life skills has a huge emphasis throughout each day. My group of kiddos are beginning to grasp these concepts and our classroom is starting to feel like a true community.
My Project
These materials are perfect for this group of kiddos! My students love small trinkets. Therefore, I'm choosing lots of small trinkets to reward students with. I am also requesting play money to develop my monetary reward system, along with pencil pouches for students to store and organize their "earnings" in. I plan to use the spinner wheel to provide incentives and make mundane classroom tasks a little more exciting for these sweet babies.

This group of kiddos appreciates rewards and positive praise more than any other group I've taught before. I want them to see that their hard work (and good choices) really do pay off!
I also plan to make many real-life connections to their good choices and hard work with their monetary rewards. It should make counting money a lot more fun, too!
