My Students

My students are an extremely diverse population. For me personally, it's extremely interesting to learn more about the Native American population which makes up approximately 50% of my student population. Being in a small town, shop class is very relatable for them. This blue-collar town we all live in is very hands on, and the skills they learn here they will keep with them and use all their lives.

My Project

These tools will be used to create a safer and more effective learning environment. Our last batch of Milwaukee battery power tools are on their last legs. We are down to one Frankenstein drill and impact put together with parts from the previous tools to make it function. The students switch between using this and corded power tools.

Corded power tools are effective, but cords running all through the wood shop is not effective or safe, not to mention we have a limited number of outlets.

The major benefit of purchasing the Milwaukee battery tools is that we still have fully functional batteries from the previous tools that have died that we can still use. It's a massive win-win as the batteries are not cheap!
