My Students

My classroom is a blended family of 18, which include general and special education students. About half of the children in my classroom have different needs ranging in; speech/communication, emotional/behavioral disorders, and physical and developmental disabilities which require accommodations and modifications. Despite having differences they all have unique talents and gifts. They surprise me when their gift is unlocked and shared in the classroom. I feel that one of the best parts of teaching is discovering hidden talents - in which is amazing and beautiful.

Every one of my students leaves a footprint in my heart!

My Project

Yoga and meditation offer psychological benefits for students. It can improve focus, memory, self-esteem, academic performance, and classroom behavior. Incorporating yoga into the classroom, will be a great way to reduce anxiety and stress for my students.

"Your mind is a powerful thing, when you filter it with positive thoughts, your life will start to change." It is important that I can incorporate social emotional learning for the children.

Covid has had a world wide impact and children need an outlet to everyday challenges. Mediation and yoga will allow for the mind and body to work together for an overall benefit to their health and wellness.
