This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
March 12, 2020. The last day that I saw my students in class. March 13th was scheduled as a teacher professional development and parent/teacher conferences day. Conferences were cancelled. Teachers used that day to create work packets and Google Classrooms.
Transitioning to remote learning has not been easy.
Students do not have the supplies necessary to complete their work. Many rely on school as a place for food, safety, social-emotional-mental supports, and connections. Most of my students are seniors. Their last high school memories have been postponed or cancelled.
Your donations will help give them memories of kind people who donated so they would have the materials they needed to learn while at home. This would help to alleviate some of their stress. From science kits to books, basic school supplies to hygiene products, you will provide them with the means to be successful, no matter where they are learning.
My Project
Remember the joy you felt as a child, when you received mail with your name on it? I still love it! Do you? Can you help me share that joy with my students?
Postcards will brighten my students' day.
My students are stressed and overwhelmed with school closures, final senior activities postponements and cancellations, working as essential workers to help their families, non-existent or unreliable technology, and their unique circumstances. This project will allow me to send a postcard to my students twice. One postcard type has colorful smiley faces. The other postcard type has beautiful views throughout the USA during different seasons. There is space on each card for me to write a unique message to each student. The postage stamp rolls will allow me to send these postcards to my students.
Your donation will help me send some cheer through this Happy Mail.
