My students need crayons and a crayon sharpener, construction paper, glue and fun supplies like feathers, smelly markers and wiggly eyes to keep ART alive in the classroom and kindergarten FUN!!
My school has AMAZING students! I am fortunate enough to get to teach its youngest learners. This school is extra special as it attracts students from all over our big city since our school's enrollment is filled by a lottery and not proximity.
My school has a beautifully diverse population filled with many different cultures and socioeconomic classes of students.
My classroom is filled with 30 excited little learners! My students and I LOVE arts and crafts and incorporate them into our academic day every chance we get. Art keeps their heARTs happy!!!
My Project
My students love to learn across the curriculum through creating beautiful artwork! I love to expose my little ones to many projects. Simple crayon resist projects are done often, like when we learn about a new animal in science, for example. I lead them in a drawing and then they trace their sketch heavy with a crayon and then water wash it with water colors and VOILA - a memorable science extension and work of art!
My students perform much better overall when I allow them creative art time!
The students also enjoy art exploration through different mediums, like tissue paper, construction paper, pipe cleaners and beads, markers, glue and scissors and pom-poms! Kindergarten is a happier place when children are given many opportunities to explore and learn though crafting!
