My students are unique, brave, and capable of wonderful things. They come to school ready to learn and full of excitement for what each day brings. With HEARTS OF GOLD, they seek to establish strong relationships with their teachers due to the impaired environments they live in at home. They desire love, affection, and genuine kindness and acceptance from those they meet.
With many of our families struggling to find employment, pay bills, and provide permanent housing for their children, uniforms and hygiene are often left unaddressed.
With the start of the 2019-2020 school year, our current enrollment has peaked to over 700 students due to the merge of 3 local schools. Serving students ages 4-15 will bring new challenges in addressing the physical and emotional needs of my students.
Students will be given hygiene kits (as needed) and parents will be able to have student uniforms washed at school to address cleanliness issues. By helping students feel better about themselves physically, we can increase their motivation and drive to succeed in their learning environment.
Presenting these hygiene kits to students and being able to wash student uniforms will decrease the overall bullying issues at our school and promote positive self-esteem.
We look forward to creating a strong positive environment at our new school. We are asking for deodorants, toothbrushes, toothpastes, laundry detergent to wash school uniforms on campus, flushable wipes, female essentials, and LICE kits. Our overall goal is to address the individual needs of the whole student in order for them to be successful.
