Help me give my students a loving and welcoming classroom environment! We want to add flexible seating like Surf portable desks, Go Anywhere chairs and warm the space with a rug!
My students are generally from low-income families who come to school not only as a place to learn, but as a place for escape and a place for new experiences. Students travel anywhere from five minutes to almost two hours to reach our school and are excited to spend time here. Many students live in subsidized housing or transient homes, using school as a place of solace.
Students at our school are passionate about learning and exploring not only the school curriculum, but also their personal interests like sports, acting, art and now, computer science!
Exposing students to different methods of learning and topics is key to their development and our job as educators. Our students do their best to learn each and every day and take this information with them out into the world. Preparing them with computer science is the next step in their development.
My Project
Students in my school move from class to class each day but are stuck in hard chairs in every room. I want them to have comfier options like the Carry Me Floor cushions and Go Anywhere Chair for seating and more space for them around the room. Students that have trouble focusing will be able to be in a new space with a separate seat like the Surf Portable Lap Desk, in addition to sitting on the new science rug!
The comfortable seating and new rug will transform the classroom!
Hanging lanterns will open up the space and brighten the room. I have plans to bring in twinkley lights and plants from home and can't wait to add your additions to the room too. My students will be so excited to have new ways to learn in the classroom and will love to see the change.
