Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
What I love about my students is their desire to learn, their natural curiosity, and their innocence. They are always eager to learn something knew or show off what they have learned. They aren't afraid to ask questions and have discussions as a group to share their opinions.
What makes my students special is they aren't afraid to share their opinions or thoughts with one another even if they disagree.
They are able to hold discussions respectfully and even persuade each other. They aren't afraid to say to one another "Ohh, I think you're right." They are special because they can teach each other and they are open to hear from one another. I also love how they hold each other accountable and if someone isn't doing what they said they would, they remind them.
My Project
These materials will make a difference in my student's learning because the camping themed supplies will make our math and reading review for our state assessment more motivating and fun.
These materials will help transform our review into a fun, engaging game where we are camping making our way through the woods as we're reaching milestones in our review process versus plain rote review.
That's what is great about kids- it doesn't take much to make them happy. I know these small touches will bring excitement to my students and I can't wait to see the excitement on their faces.
