Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach 7th and 8th grade students computers and music technology. My coworker and I work very hard to provide unique musical, vocal and career technology instruction and opportunities for our students. We are a middle school with equally mixed races of students. About 67% of our students are designated as high poverty.

We often have our students enter festivals and competitions which require a high quality of recording. We just designed a sound-proofed room that we have been using for the spoken word and singing. This is an excellent opportunity to provide the missing piece.

A musical keyboard has been requested by our students for the sound-proof room with a mixer. Many of our students have real musical talents and want to develop their own musical pieces. This keyboard will be used for original music, background music in student movies, and commercials. This will be so exciting for our school.

Please support the arts by supplying these good students with this musical keyboard to expand their talents and enjoy the positive attention they will get in middle school and beyond. This is your chance to make a direct difference in many students' lives.
