This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are excited about learning. Hands-on experiences and different innovative ways to learn spark interest in learning. Many of my students love technology but are unable to afford many of the things teens today take for granted. My school is very rural, and many students have been unable to experience the latest technology trends and devices that are available. We are a Title I school. However, these students are passionate about their learning as are their teachers. They are ready for hands-on learning.
Many of my students are hands-on learners who desire an active lifestyle.
Unfortunately, many students lack the time or opportunity to be active. The goal of this project is to provide fun and active experiences for students.
My Project
The project, Happy Atoms, is designed to help students learn the foundations of Chemistry. Happy Atoms is a hands-on opportunity for students to physically build and visualize chemical bonds. This is so important in today's era when students are on devices almost constantly.
Happy Atoms allows students to visualize otherwise unseen atomic interactions.
Students are able to work both individually or in groups to create the types of bonds and molecules. Students learn best by doing and this is a wonderful opportunity for students of all backgrounds and learning styles.
