My students need Happy Atoms Magnetic Modeling Kits to create and learn about how compounds are made.
This project expired on July 22, 2018.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
"You make science fun!" is the highest compliment my students can give me. There is only one high school in our county which means we have a large population of students. I teach 140 students with over 50% of them on free or reduced lunch.
Since my students live in a rural Tennessee county, they are not exposed to many options like other students in the state.
However, this does not interfere with their desire to learn and prepare for their future.
Happy Atoms would be a great asset in our classroom. Chemical Bonding is very difficult for students to visualize. I have used other activities for the students to visualize how compounds form. When I was introduced to Happy Atoms, I knew the students would love to learn with this hands on modeling.
I will use Happy Atoms in addition to other activities I use in class to drive home the concept of how compounds are made.
It gives the students a way to learn kinesthetically. It also makes learning fun! I believe the students' test scores will increase with the use of this modeling set.
