My school has a unique group of more than 90% Title I students, which is the largest Title I population in the district. We are the hub school for ELL students in the district, which creates a lot of diversity within our walls. We have students that not only speak Spanish but also other languages, such as Russian. This diversity makes teaching a little more challenging than being in any other school in our district. As a PreK - 5 school with 18 to 20 students in each grade level, we have about 500 students in our school.
My Project
My goal for the upcoming school year is to increase attendance. One way to improve attendance is by eliminating the amount of germs that float around in our classroom. Germs lead to many student absences and lost learning opportunities.
Students are coming into school with runny noses and colds, and its important to stop the spread of germs and keep our classroom healthy.
Clorox Wipes and aerosol spray will help decontaminate and clean all of our surface areas in our classroom. And having sufficient Kleenex will enable students to be able to cover and wipe their noses without having to leave the classroom. Once we have created a clean and healthy atmosphere, it will lead to healthier students, improved attendance, and a better education!
