I teach 1st grade at a rural school located in North Dakota. Most students know everyone within the school and share a lot of the same interests. We connect the majority of our lessons to the shared experiences the students have.
My students are creative, full of questions, and very energetic.
They love hands-on projects and find ways to take things to the next level. Many of my students do not have the support or resources at home to continue their learning. I want to be able to supply the right tools in my classroom so that each student is able to apply their creative thinking to overcome different challenges.
My Project
There is no doubt that students will learn this year, however, there is so much uncertainty about where or how they will learn. We are starting the school year in person, but are so prepared to utilize distance learning if the pandemic worsens in our area. I want to give each student materials to express themselves through art whether it's in the classroom or learning at home.
These art supplies will benefit the students no matter where the school year takes them.
They will be able to learn about and create beautiful works of art at school, or at home if thats where they e doing their learning.
