Help me give my students a class set (20) of the novel Percy Jackson and the The Olympians and the graphic novel to add another representation of the material.

As a teacher in a small Title I school for the School District of Philadelphia, I see the many struggles that my students face. However, when we walk into my room, it's all about being our best selves.
Scientists, Musicians, Teachers, and Athletes are some words that describe the dreams of my students.
Dreams that have developed with reading and writing. Each day they come to my room with an excitement to learn. From comic books and historical fiction, all the way to science texts about the planets, my students love to learn it all.
Although many of my students come to me with low reading levels, we never let that define the potential that we can reach. Their goal each day is to practice, encourage, try, fail, win, and start all over again. A favorite phrase that you'll always hear is "It's not about how perfect it is, it's about how hard you worked."
Throughout the year, my students have shown an immense interest in learning about history and action. The room is filled with a buzz as they discuss topics old and new and they always impress me with their thinking and new ideas. Translating this love into a novel would a great fit to build life long learners and readers. By giving each student a copy of the book they will be able to engage in discussions and analyze the text on a more personal level. They will become more heavily invested in the characters and plot which turns into learning about vocab and more complex topics.
With these books, we will be able to dive into a world that is new to many students, the world of Greek mythology.
This opens the door for science, social studies, word study and so much more. Not only that, it is the perfect book to sink their teeth into. By exposing them to the first novel, they will be sure to grow an interest in the author and learn what it means to not want to put a book down.
