My students are special because they come from extremely different backgrounds, yet they learn together and love each other.
My class is comprised of a diverse group that speaks several different languages, and have a huge range of social and economic differences.
Many of the children are on free/reduced-price lunch. Some of the students have already been enrolled in several different schools by the time they have reached the first grade. We live in a transient area and for many, school is the one place that is a stable and safe environment.
This is a happy group that is ready to learn!
These are some engaging and age-appropriate games that will help my students as they learn to read. The file holder is on wheels, and small enough to fit up to the reading table. This will make organization simple to make my time instructing more efficient.
Students will be able to practice concepts by playing these games in small groups.
The selected games cover important reading concepts we cover in first grade. The games will allow students to practice skills and concepts independent from the teacher.
The games will be in hanging folders that I would keep on the hanging cart.
