I teach music at a school in suburban South Carolina. These students make up forty-five classes in grades pre-kindergarten through fifth grade, including special ed, regular ed, and gifted students. Many of these students come from low-income families and they rely on teachers or the school for their materials. All of my students love new experiences. They are always eager to get involved in learning.
Our mascot is the “Busy Bee” and we certainly stay busy trying to make every moment count in music class!
My Project
My students have really enjoyed the new arrangement of our piano lab thanks to previous projects on DonorsChoose. The concept of the keyboard lab is amazing. Students can hear me playing the master piano and speaking instruction through the headphone system. After working on an exercise, I can hear each one of them play individually as well through the system. But, this is only possible if we all have quality headphones that are working. We need the requested headphone hangers that attach to the tables to complete our lab. This is where you can help!
