This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are elementary aged English Language Learners, who ask questions all day long! They are hungry to learn and are excited to share their learning with each other.

We are a Title I, highest poverty school, so many of our students do not have access to educational resources in their homes.

However, what they don't have in money, they make up for in a love of learning and a desire to build each other up. Help me level the playing field for these precious students.

My Project

I don't have anywhere to put student backpacks and unfortunately, that means they are hanging on the back of their seats. That causes lots of problems; the backpacks fall to the floor, people trip over them, people bump into them, knock them off the chairs and kids take toys or other items out of their backpack which causes lots of distraction.

I would love to have a place where we can hang the backpacks so they are not in the way or causing a hazard.

The rack is on wheels and I have a closet space where it would fit perfectly. I could also wheel it in and out of our classroom and put it just outside the door so, it doesn't clutter up our room.
