This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
For almost all of my students, Pre-K is8 their very first experience in a school and I am their first teacher. I want my students to develop a deep love of learning. My school serves almost all low-income students, with many students speaking English as their second language.
I believe it is my duty as a teacher to help close the achievement gap.
One of the ways to do that is to make school a fun and inviting place. However, this requires resources that go beyond my teacher's income. I love my scholars and they deserve the best!
My Project
One of my previous DonorsChoose projects was getting dress up clothes for our dramatic play area. We received so many! The children play with these everyday! You can usually find me being getting a 'shot' from the many doctors and nurses in my PreK classroom!
I want/need our dress up clothes to be around for years to come and in order for this to happen we need somewhere to hang them that the children can easily get and put back.
Lately, I have been trying to fold them after school everyday, which is helping to keep them in good shape but is very time consuming. Therefore, we need your help! The All Around Dress-Up Center would allow the children to easily find outfits and would help foster responsibility as they could easily hang up the clothes when they are done.
