Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

The majority of my students come from neighborhoods that are struck with poverty. Some of my students are English language learners and some are special education. My students really love school and learning!

Our school district was recently rezoned.

Because of this, we have many more students than we were used to. This has caused problems in not having enough materials for many of our students. Our students work hard and want to learn so badly but we need more materials to be able to reach them all.

My Project

Students thrive on using technology. They typically know how to use it better than even I know how! They are so engaged when using technology to learn. However, technology can be expensive and sometimes it breaks. This is the issue we have with our headphones. Using headphones when playing on our iPads or computers is much more conducive to the learning environment than having the programs come out the speakers of the computer or iPad. Volume from these iPads and computers can be quite distracting to learners and can sometimes prevent them from completing the lesson. These headphones will really allow my students to be more successful with their assignments.
