We are a K-12 charter school in Utah with about 40 percent of our students on free and/or reduced lunches. We don't let our lack of funds stop us from learning at the highest degree, and we test as one of the top schools in the state on standardized tests.
My students come to school every day excited to learn.
Kindergarten is such an essential time to lay the foundation for a successful educational career. My students are tomorrow's best leaders!
My Project
In my kindergarten class, we practice handwriting every day. My students love to use dry erase boards to practice with. It is fun and engaging for them. If they make a mistake, it is easy to erase and fix. This is very motivating for them. It also saves on paper supplies. I love these whiteboards because they have two sides- a plain side and a lined side. This gives me a lot of flexibility for different applications in my lessons.
Whiteboards are a great classroom tool for the whole group and small group instruction.
This will be a wonderful addition to my classroom. It will benefit my students now and in the future.
I also do what I call "Choice Time" at the beginning of my day. This is a time when my students get to practice fine motor skills and social skills. I have included some items in my project that will enhance my students' experience during this important time of day. They will enjoy sorting with the attribute blocks, dramatic play with the community helpers, and use fine motor skills with the magnetic boards.
