Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our class is full of excited little learners. They are curious about the world and want to learn everything there is to know. Everyday they ask me many questions (some of which I don’t even know) and together we research the answers.
You would never know that some of these kids don’t know where their next meal will come from or don’t own clothes that fit properly.
We are a Title 1 campus and all students get free breakfast and lunch. Despite the hardships that my students face, they come everyday ready to learn and better themselves. They are my inspiration to be a better teacher and do whatever it takes to provide them with the education that they deserve.
My Project
These materials I am requesting for my students will be of great use in our classroom. A big struggle for second graders is regrouping and having these tools will help my students better understand the concept. We will use these resources in whole group and small group math.
Using hands on manipulatives helps to improve student learning and retention of content.
In a country full of testing, we have to find every way possible to help students to understand the information we are teaching them. These materials gives my class another way of learning and I truly appreciate any help that we can get for our success.
