Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

This is my first year teaching ever and my third graders are very curious and full of unique personalities. We have students from many different backgrounds, which makes our school a culturally-rich environment. Our students also face specific challenges related to socioeconomic situations that are out of their control.

School is a safe haven for many of our students and they deserve the opportunity to embrace their love of learning.

As a first year teacher at a Title I school. Supplies for students are hard to come by unless they are paid for out of pocket. To teach kids new concepts, it is easier for kids to picture things when they can feel and see at the same time. These tools, double-sided counters, magnetic fraction tiles and a multiplication game chart pop it fidget manipulative, will help kids understand fractions.
