My Students

I am privileged to work with a diverse community of students. In our fifth grade class, we have students from six different countries, who also come from diverse economic and linguistic backgrounds.

My students are amazing humans, and I am blessed to be part of their lives for a small piece of time.

They are inquisitive, thoughtful, and in great need of gaining the skills necessary to be successful in our diverse and changing world. I see it as a challenge to prepare my kids for jobs that do not yet exist.

My Project

Fifth graders often struggle with understanding the human body systems and how they are similar and different to those of plants and animals. For many learners, looking at videos, and reading information online and in books is simply not enough to help them visualize.

Models will give my students an opportunity to see the various body systems and how they connect to one another.

By being able to touch and manipulate the models, my students will be able to see and understand the structure and function of the body systems. Additionally, by having four models, students will be able to have a more hands-on experience with their learning.
