We need extra support to help support student learning. Students at my school come from a working class neighborhood that is very well integrated. They are every color of the rainbow and come from multiple backgrounds. One thing that they have in common is that many of their families are working multiple jobs and having trouble making ends meet.
Teachers, counselors, and other staff members frequently purchase basic need items for students who are not able to receive them from their families.
This school uses a program of catching students doing the right thing. There is an ongoing conversation about "being a bucket filler" by doing good things. They receive incentive "bucks" for good behavior and deeds.
My students need hands-on activities for math and science. Having an interactive whiteboard in the classroom will help students get involved in math and science. Students will be able to perform task on the board and use the ebeam edge to interact with it. Students will be able to learn about different science topics. They can also do computer games as a class together.
Students will be able to play games and be actively learning with the whole class.
Getting students involved in their own learning will help improve scores in math and science. My goal is to get the students up and moving and wanting to be involved in their learning.
