Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a teacher from a low socioeconomic school, I work with the most challenged of students. Parents send their students to our school with the hopes that they will be given the tools and knowledge to excel in their education. They are the best kids EVER!
My students are an amazing group of kids.
They are hardworking, enthusiastic, and very respectful. They come to school every day ready to learn, put in their best effort, and take pride in their work.
My Project
My students love to learn. There is no doubt about that, but they learn best when they can use their little hands to explore. They need more than paper and pencil activities, and these STEM Kits will fill that need in my classroom.
I love how these STEM Kits challenge students to build, create, and explore while developing skills in physical science and engineering.
Two of the kits also connect STEM with classic fairy tale stories that all second graders love. Connecting literacy and STEM is the best of both worlds. I will be able to reach more students by integrating multiple subject areas.
I want to give my students a fun new way to develop their STEM skills. They'll be developing skills while mastering 21st-century skills and learning about physical science and engineering.
